Analyze search engine rankings and web traffic to determine the effectiveness of the programs you’ve implemented, including assessment of individual keyword performance. Images, videos, slideshows and audio act as a signal of quality content to search engines… after all, you have put in the work to make your content look good and interactive! To
achieve and maintain good placements on result pages
(SERPs) over the long term, you should follow the search
engine’s guidelines and focus on your target visitors
(this approach is called “White Hat SEO”). Google and
other search engines very quickly identify non-permitted,
manipulative techniques and your website could be
penalized. For advanced users, the information an analytics package provides,
combined with data from your server log files, can provide even more
comprehensive information about how visitors are interacting with
your documents (such as additional keywords that searchers might
use to find your site).
Optimization ensures the Website is easy to index
Google cares deeply about the indexed age of both your site and its content. A brand new site that's a newcomer to Google is going to have a far harder time ranking on its SERPs than a site that has indexed age. Focussing on understanding
the intent of the user is not only because it helps in getting conversions or click throughs, it is also important for the SEO perspective and provide value to your visitors. It helps in creating a brand name with trust and accountability. The user’s keywords are typically shown in boldface when they appear in the search results (sometimes close synonyms are shown in boldface as well). It may not be a good idea to link to the website from footers or sidebars.
Fixing an Internal Linking Problem
Quality and visibility. This is truly the great secret to SEO and content. Without discounting the
value of links and traffic, content is most likely the key element of a website's charisma. Good content will lead to links and traffic. The proliferation of smartphones and tablets mean more and more consumers will be viewing your website on the much smaller screen of a mobile device. For a good user experience, make sure your website is mobile responsive, rendering correctly on a desktop, laptop, tablet and smartphone. Google’s Search Console (previously known as Webmaster Tools) and Analytics are both incredibly valuable tools for optimising your site and monitoring its SEO success.
Structure of headings for your category / tag / taxonomy pages
Search engines display page titles in their search results. In addition, search engines use page titles in order to recognize what information the website contains. Use search engine friendly permalinks. Try not to have too many ‘&’, ‘?’, ‘!’ etc characters in the URL. Sometimes it is unavoidable but try to keep it to a minimum. Google is making a real push to get to grips with any tactic they see as manipulating the rankings in a way that’s against their guidelines – from keyword cramming to paying for sponsored posts. According to
SEO Consultant, Gaz Hall: "Social signals like those from Twitter and Facebook are increasingly valuable, despite being no follow. The key is to build your brand – don’t think of what links are good for SEO, but instead think what links are good for your business, your brand, and what links can help establish you as an industry authority. Remember that links, no follow or not, build trust."
The more value you can provide, the better
If it’s been just a day or two since you made your website and are not appearing on the SERPs, then you might consider submitting your URL to Google (If you haven’t already done).
If you still don’t appear on the SERPs, relax! Google takes some time to crawl and index your website. Follow all the
good on-page content and off-page optimization considerations, like fresh, unique content. Don’t overdo the keywords, prevent spammy backlinking etc. Links don't matter that much for ranking in the Featured Snippet when you already rank on page one of Google. Segment your content - If you catch yourself writing a few monster paragraphs, cut them up into smaller, bite-sized pieces. Make sure you use headers, lists, and bullets when ever possible. Don't forget to add appropriate spacing. This strategy directly correlates with increased readability, and thus, linkability.
